Poor service, football on multiple tellys, big breakfasts and drug dealing clients on the run from the UK. Yep I am pretty sure that Browns Bar is the best god damned British pub in all Tbilisi.
And in classic style and after only visiting twice, I am now basically a regular there. Not gonna lie I really like Browns Bar….

What the Browns Bar?
Browns Bar was opened in 2015 by a British expat who wanted to recreate a proper English pub in Tbilisi. It is still independently owned and has remained a favourite among locals, expats, and travellers who want a familiar pint, pub food, and a place where football on multiple screens is mandatory.
The atmosphere is chaotic but welcoming, with regular events like quiz nights, live music, and pool tournaments. The bar has gained a reputation for its eclectic clientele, from students and tourists to people who seem like they’ve escaped from the UK entirely.

The Best God Damned English Breakfast in Tbilisi
After fixing my Georgian residency I was up for doing a bit of work and getting a big breakfast, so I took the short journey from the Justice Building to Browns Bar. I had actually been in the night before, although as is the standard for an English bar no one bar a drunk Irishman spoke to me.
I digress! OK so the big breakfast cost 35 Georgian Lari, or about $13, and consisted of two Cumberland sausages, two fried eggs on breaded toast, mushrooms, beans, two rashes of bacon and black pudding. Overall I gotta say it was pretty epic with the black pudding particularly being melt-in-your-mouth. Honestly, after this I felt like I wouldn’t need to eat for the rest of the day. Obviously I got drunk and did eat though….
Some people have commented on my TikTok that they like the bar, but not the breakfast, but I thought it was decent, save the fact that it did not come with tea.

Eating at Browns Bar
The rest of the menu is fairly simple with some English classics like bangers and mash, pies and the like, and randomly pizza. No English pub should serve pizza. They also have Georgian food, but hey if I wanted Georgian food I’d go to Georgia.
There’s also decent all-day breakfast type options, with me having the egg and bacon sandwich, which weirdly was served in a burger bun. I also hit the potato wedges after we hit the Jagers.
Oh and its better than Mugsys Burger

Drinking at Browns Bar
This is a proper English pub where everyone is a bit cold at first, but then it all flips once you make friends with one person. For me this was seeing Tom Birchy, a fairly famous TikTok guy that I follow. We started drinking and before you knew it we were meeting the other drinkers, which were mostly fairly strange expats, many of whom were on the run from the police. Honestly, this was why I started traveling….
And a very fun night was had, so fun that I lost my wallet and woke up to messages from my new friends in Tbilisi. This is one thing I really do miss from home.
But, if driving with weird folks is not your thing you will be happy to know there is more to the place. There’s multiple football matches on multiple screens, one of which showed Man City getting beat. You really can never get enough of that. And then there are the toilets, which even included a picture of Hitler. Really, what a time to be alive.

In conclusion
Browns Bar is not a place to culturally immerse yourself in Georgia, oh no, it is a place to go when you want company rather than being alone in a setting that leads you to get drunk.
Honestly it made me proud to be English.
