Basically Chinese breakfast is really not very good. This is not to say I don’t like Chinese food, I love it, but Chinese breakfast, save Jian Bing is gash. Therefore on our trip to through he boonies and borderlands of China we generally tried to do McDonalds Breakfast.
Well there is no McDonalds in Genhe, heck there’s not even a Dicos. There are though Wallace Burger, D Cheese and Tasting Burger. Well Wallace I know to be shit, D Cheese opened at 9 am and thus I ended up at Tasting Burger and you know what? It was alright. So alright in fact I deemed it the best burger in Genhe. This thoughts not a huge achievement.

The Menu at Tasting Burger
The menu much at you get at Wallace Burger, and brands like this are a cheap knock off of what Chinese people think western food is like. This is what you get in places where there is no big franchise, but locals have a crack at doing a job.
This means an excess of Chinese fried chicken and chicken burgers that are not that great. Aside from this they have whole roasted chicken and surprisingly beef burgers, something even Dicos have not mangled to give the masses.

How is the food at Tasting Burger?
We got a couple of cheese burgers which were actually pretty good. Unlike at say Burger King or the like this is more like a homegrown burger made in the kitchen with the lettuce, burger and cheese having been clearly packed by a chef. The French fries were decent, as also was the roasted chicken, although it was also the slightly cheap a bit chemical like kind you get in cheap Chinese restaurants. Still when it only sets you back $3, who can complain.
And the meal in general was cheap, costing like $3 for a meal, ordered from humans and being nice and hearty. Would I proverbially climb over a KFC to get to Tasting Burger? Of course not, but as they say if a man in thirsty enough he will drink piss.
Where is Tasting Burger Genhe?
I don’t have the Chinese address, but basically Genhe is absolutely tiny. The best direction I can give you is in Longfeng Market (龙凤市场). Which doubles as the morning market, opposite Wallace Burger.
So, if you want a burger in Genhe when it is cold, then Tastings Burger is the best burger in Genhe!
