Sometimes fortune favors the bold, on other occasions it delivers you to Mugsy’s Burger or the slightly different named Mugsy’s Burger, two fast food burger joints scattered around Tbilisi. I was to end up here after coming home a few vodkas in from Browns Bar to find my local shop was closed.
This led to me twalking to try and find some scran, rather than getting a Bolt to a McDonalds. McDonalds in Georgia is good, Mugsys Burger is not.

What the Mugsys Burger?
So what is this place? It is one of those local Georgian fast food burger spots that seems to have sprung up out of nowhere and become a late night haunt for drunk students and hungover tourists alike. They have a couple of branches around town, one on Vazha Pshavela Avenue and another over on Melikishvili Street, and they are open stupid hours every day, like until 4 am, so it seems ideal for that post bar hunger attack. hey have been around since at least the mid 2010s and pitch themselves on fresh ingredients and cheap burgers, which sounds tempting when you are wasted. There is not much info about who actually owns the joint or any big backstory, no celebrity chef, no family legacy, no secret sauce legend, just a fast food outfit churning burgers and fries out late into the night.
The Mugsys Menu
The menu is fairly short and sweet, so I thought it might be a bit like Dirty Burger in Gili T in that it was the kind of place to do a few things really well. It was not, not at all like this.

The food at Mugsys
I went for the Mozzarella Burger which came with what I think was a big deep fried bit of cheese. It tasted like wood. I removed it and just ate the very so so burger underneath. I also got the jalapeño and cheese sauce fries, which were at best bang average, soggy, limp, and not even spicy enough to excuse itself.
The cream on the top of this bag of piss though was the service. Yes, I was given a number to pick up my food, but the staff were too lazy to actually tell me it was ready so I received it cold, like someone had forgotten a tray in a back alley for half an hour.
So to summarise Mugsys Burger is a bit shit
