Shit Bali Bars – W Sports Bar Legian

W Sports Bar

While parts of Bali are amazing, if you look hard enough, some of it is a bit shit. Case in point here being Legian, or as I like to call it my least favourite part of Australia. Here you will constantly be offered girls, drugs and more, while Australian “pubs” dominate.

Some of these pubs are OK, but others such as W Sports Bar follow the same pattern. This for the most part means bad food, shit service and bogus clientele.

What the W Sports Bar?

W Sports Bar is an Australian-style sports bar and restaurant on Jalan Raya Legian in Kuta. Like plenty of other establishments in this part of Bali, it caters to tourists looking for familiar pub food, cold beer and live sport.

The venue combines a bar and restaurant, with televisions showing football and rugby league alongside other sporting events. The menu is typical Bali shit, as listed below!

The Menu at W Sports Bar

A classic Bali fusion of badly done Indonesian food, you know mie goreng and nasi goreng, as well as badly done Western food, like steaks and burgers. They do, though, at least have pork, which is very welcome after a week in Java.

The menu covers Indonesian dishes alongside burgers, steaks, pizzas and other pub grub. Prices from published menus include:

  • W Special Nasi Goreng: IDR 54,000 ($3.35).

  • Special Fried Noodles: IDR 54,000 ($3.35).

  • Chicken Cashews with Rice: IDR 72,000 ($4.45).

  • Ayam Sambal Bawang with Rice: IDR 54,000 ($3.35).

The Service and Vibe at W Sports Bar

I ordered the steak rare, but it came well done, so I sent it back. They offered me another one, and I said no. They brought one out anyway. I also sent that back, then they still tried to charge me for it. Just a cheap, nasty Aussie restobar that epitomises everything shit about this area.

On a plus point, though, they do at least show football and rugby league, but then so does pretty much every other bar in Legian.
